Foreword
The Chinese Deaf Association, R. O. C., was established on March 26, 1995, organized by a group of enthusiastic deaf people working together to develop a barrier-free environment for the Taiwanese hearing-impaired and to establish an Overseas Study Guidance Center for the Hearing-Impaired. In March of 1996, we also established the Employment Library Center for the Taiwanese Hearing-Impaired and the Employment Guidance Center for the Hearing-Impaired to further guarantee the rights and welfare of deaf people.
Purpose
To promote academic research into Deaf culture, to further the education of the hearing-impaired, to improve welfare benefits for the hearing-impaired, and to assist the government in planning for a barrier-free environment for hearing-impaired people.
Services
Promote academic research into Deaf culture.
Promote the improvement of welfare benefits for the hearing-impaired.
Promote sign language instruction, prepare sign language interpreters, and provide interpreter services.
Review and publish books on sign language linguistics, Deaf culture, Deaf society,and Deaf deucation..
stablish American Sign Language classes(for international opportunities and interaction),overseas study counseling classes,and other counseling classes.
articipate in international research conferences for the hearing-impaired, and promote cooperation and international interaction in order to raise therights,welfare,and Deaf people of Taiwan to an international level.

annnnSpecial organizations devoted to public welfare or social charity can be recommended as patron members by the approval of the membership committee.
Honorary Members
0000 Any individual who has contributed to cultural research for the Deaf and education of the Deaf can be recommended as an honorary members by the approval of the membership committee.
